Laura Ling and Euna Lee Pardoned by Kim Jong Il
Journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee have been pardoned by Kim Jong Il after talking with former president of the United States Bill Clinton.
It has been reported that Clinton went to North Korea on the journalists behalf to see if he could arrange the journalists release and/or subsequent pardon.
The Journalists who were sentenced to 12 years of hard labor after their alleged crossing into North Korea were confirmed as pardoned by Ill on August 24, 2009 around 3:38 P.M. Eastern time.
It is unknown at this time when the journalists will be formally released or if the journalists will return with Clinton on his return trip to America.
